
Sophie Laverack’s passion for reducing inequalities stem from studying Biomedical Sciences which led her to study and work abroad for 8 years. This included managing and opening education projects on a remote island chain in Fiji for an international NGO. After returning to the UK, Sophie joined a a digital health start-up as the Marketing and Product Development Executive and was quickly promoted to Head of Operations and Customer Development.
The third sector soon began calling again and Sophie is now the Digital and Content Manager at Best Beginnings. Since starting at the health inequality charity Sophie’s achievements include;
- being part of the production team of a series of mental health films which were launched by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge,
- managing the charity’s app which won the Digital and Technology Award at the 2016 Guardian Public Service Awards,
- producing a campaign whose launch film received over 85,000 organic views across a range of platforms in the first 24 hours.
Sophie is currently working on some very exciting digital change projects, improving the user experience and building the community, and a series of Maternity Rights films with the charity Maternity Action. She has worked collaboratively with a range of organisations including the Royal Foundation, Heads Together and Unilever on digital campaigns, videos and marketing.
